Our team members attended TIGI’s World Release 2015 in Las Vegas on August 24-25th. The show was spectacular and we saw so many amazing looks from the TIGI Creative Team. Much of what we saw is starting to become and will be THE hair trends for the upcoming season, Fall-Winter 2015-2016. This year is a nod to the 1990’s punk/rock inspiration.
For cut and styling the main theme is effortless and undone hair. Bouncy shiny curls are out and loose matte waves are in. All of the styling has a very updated 90’s grunge feeling to it. We will be seeing:
Textured mid-length cuts, reminiscent of the shag and mullet.
Short chin length bobs with choppy micro-fringe.
Grown out wispy bangs with a center part.
Men’s barbered haircuts: super short sides faded into a longer top.
Favorite product to achieve these looks is TIGI Bed Head Joyride Texturizing Powder Balm. It gives a matte dry oil finish, perfect for the 2nd day worn in look.
As for color, they are changing to the warmer richer side or antiqued look. Blondes will be more golden instead of ash.
Coppers and wine-inspired colors like merlot will be most in demand.
Cool pastel tones are still in but will be displayed in dusty muted versions compared to saturated rich tones. Dusty grays, vintage violets, and antiqued blues are among the most popular hair colors.
Warmer tones like peachy apricot and rose gold will be in demand.
Copper is a great way to add dimension to a typical brunette.
Colorists will play with the idea of changing tones to look saturated yet antique at the same time.
